Geoffrey E. Schneider is Professor of Economics at Bucknell University. He was the inaugural director of the Teaching and Learning Center at Bucknell, a position he held from 2006 to 2014. Professor Schneider received a BA in economics from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has co-authored two books, Introduction to Political Economy (Dollars and Sense) and Economics: A Tool for Critically Understanding Society (Addison Wesley), and has authored or co-authored articles in the Journal of Economic Issues, The Review of Social Economy, The Review of Radical Political Economics, The Forum for Social Economics, and Feminist Economics. His most recent research is on the theory of comparative institutional advantage and issues of democracy and development in Africa. He is also an award-winning teacher, the author of several articles on pedagogy, and guest editor of two special issues of the Forum for Social Economics on Teaching Heterodox Economics.
