Dr Jay Cullen is a lecturer in banking and corporate law at the University of Sheffield, and a member of the Sustainable Market Actors Network. His research focuses on banking regulation, economic theory and corporate governance. His work is influenced by the economic and financial theories of Hyman Minsky and he is particularly interested in bank capital and liquidity regulation, as well as bankers’ compensation and bank corporate governance. His book on bankers’ pay, Executive Compensation in Imperfect Financial Markets, was released in October 2014 by Edward Elgar, and he has published in leading UK, US and European academic journals. He holds degrees from the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester.
