YSI

Through the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI), INET provides support to students, young professionals, or others who embrace new and critical ways of thinking about the economy. YSI fosters conversation among those who wish to engage with new economic thinking and connects young scholars to the Institute’s vast network of economists.

Olivier Giovannoni

Macroeconomic theory, inequality, labor share, macroeconomic policy, mathematical and quantitative methods
Olivier Giovannoni is a junior research scholar specializing in the macroeconomics of income distribution. He focuses on real-world, policy-relevant, empirically-driven, and historically-founded research and teaching in the non-mainstream tradition. Giovannoni received his B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Nice. He is a recipient of research grants and teaching fellowships from the French Ministry of Education and Research. From 2007-2010 he was a lecturer in the department of economics at the University of Texas at Austin, and he has been at Bard College since 2010.
