Atanas Pekanov is a macroeconomist, based in Vienna, and working at the Vienna Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) with a focus on monetary and fiscal policy and the EMU. He is also a PhD student at the Vienna University of Business and Economics (WU Wien) with a main focus on distributional macroeconomics, open economy macro and HANK models. Most recently, he served in the Bulgarian caretaker government as Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds Management.
