User Profiles

All people with profiles on the front-end of the website will need to be established as users in Craft—even though they may never be granted access to the back-end of the site.

When creating users, you’ll choose to assign one of three profile types:

  • The Basic Profile shows a user’s first and last name, avatar, email address, city, state, country, professional positions, Institute affiliation (if any), expertise, bio, topics of expertise, social media accounts, and a CV file download.
  • The Advanced Profile includes all elements of the Basic Profile, and also shows content by and featuring the individual on the website.
The Notable Profile includes all elements of the Advanced Profile, but instead of showing a city, state, and country, offers a phone number field. In addition to being able to show content by and featuring the individual, Notable Profiles offer the ability to include links to publications by the individual and use a press photo instead of avatar photo. The Notable Profile should be reserved for experts—very important people associated with the Institute. These individuals will appear in featured areas of the site.
