The Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) supports a new generation of new economic thinkers. We seek to provide a home for anyone who embraces critical thinking, intellectual discourse and a sensitive understanding of the greater political economy, the philosophy of science, and a variety of perspectives and means of modeling economic phenomena.

In YSI we foster and facilitate conversation between like-minded peers and the Institute's vast network of economists; the community provides a stepping-stone to make the discipline more accessible for the casually interested and those still “learning the ropes”. The more advanced members of our community serve as mentors to guide our discussion as we embark on the journey to rethink the discipline of economics.

So regardless whether you are new to economics or whether you are thinking about seriously pursuing a career in economics, YSI provides you with a stimulating intellectual environment, which helps you advance your understanding of the economy.

We invite you to be part of our community:
