A Conversation on The State of The Economy

The Institute for New Economic Thinking, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and Shakespeare & Co. Booksellers hosted a remarkable evening of conversation between two economic heavyweights: Joseph Stiglitz and Paul Krugman. In a dialogue moderated by Institute for New Economic Thinking President Robert A. Johnson, the two Nobel Prize winners addressed the stresses present in the dysfunctional U.S. economy and how society can put itself back on track. Stiglitz and Krugman focused on the concepts of crisis and repair as seen through the lenses of inequality and fiscal balance.

The conversation was presented as part of FIT's annual Fashion and Finance Forum, in which academic and industry leaders discuss important economic, finance, or fashion-related issues.
