Eric J. Weiner has covered business and economics issues for nearly 20 years as a writer and editor. He is the author of two critically acclaimed books: THE SHADOW MARKET,  an eye-opening examination of America’s diminishing power in the global economy, which was published by Scribner in September 2010 and was named one of the “Favorite 50” business books of 2009 and 2010 by Bloomberg BusinessWeek magazine; and WHAT GOES UP, an oral history of Wall Street since the Great Depression, which was published by Little, Brown and Company in September 2005 and was named one of the year’s best books by Barron’s and Kiplinger’s magazines. A former columnist and Wall Street reporter for Dow Jones Newswires, he has written for The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Village Voice, Huffington Post, and numerous other major print and online publications. He lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, with his wife, Paige, and their son, Jake.
