Partnerships

The Institute for New Economic Thinking is partnering with other organizations, universities and think tanks aligned with the INET mission in order to extend our global community, accelerate the rate of change, and broaden the impact on the field of economics. These partnerships take somewhat different forms.

INET is establishing a network of smaller “Institutes” on major university campuses that will act as hubs in extending the INET vision around the world. These centers provide local support for graduate students, post-docs, professors and other scholars, and will act as a front-line mechanism for identifying the best of the next generation of talent. When complete, this network of global centers will provide an infrastructure for scholars to travel and more easily collaborate with colleagues from around the world.

At the Davos World Economic Forum of 2011, INET announced a partnership with the Centre for International Governance Innovation. The two organizations will closely cooperate to broaden and accelerate the development of innovative thinking that will lead to insights and solutions for the great economic and governance challenges of the 21st century.

INET established its first joint academic institute in 2010 with the The Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford. Work there will focus on new thinking in the field of economic modeling, and look at issues surrounding systemic risk. Sir David Hendry, a member of INET's Advisory Board, leads the Institute.
