"Shadow PBoC" is a weekly economics seminar held at Peking University, China. The seminar is instructed by Professor Michael Pettis, Professor of Finance in Peking University and Senior Associate of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and Logan Wright, China Research Analyst at Medley Global Advisors. The participants are selected students from Peking University, one of China’s top universities.
The central banking seminar focuses on Chinese monetary policy and macroeconomics. Topics include central banking, equity and bond markets in China, the Chinese shadow banking system, Chinese government and household debt, interest rate liberalization, RMB internationalization, and many more. Students bring their own research to bear on discussion of each topic.
On China Economics Seminar, hosted by INET, the seminar participants refine and elaborate their analysis of China's monetary and macroeconomic issues. With weekly posts, the bloggers provide a new voice on the vexing and pressing issues facing their country today.
